مشاركة حافلة لائتلاف الخير للإغاثة في COP16..
شارك ائتلاف الخير للإغاثة الإنسانية في مؤتمر الأطراف السادس عشر لمكافحة #التصحر في العاصمة السعودية الرياض بمشاركة 197 دولة.
واستعرض ائتلاف الخير للإغاثة الإنسانية ممثلاً بمدير إدارة الشراكات والمنح المهندس أحمد بن هامل، ومسؤولة العلاقات الخارجية الأستاذة وضحة الصلوي، وعضو وحدة المناخ المهندس ناجي باجحاو، بالشراكة مع مؤسسة بناء للتنمية و ممثل عن برنامج الأغذية العالمي WFP الأستاذة مها البعداني جهود الائتلاف في مكافحة التصحر من خلال مشاريع استصلاح الأراضي الزراعية، والبيوت الخضراء، وتأهيل مصادر المياه، وإدخال التقنيات الحديثة كالزراعة المائية.
كما شارك الائتلاف في عدة جلسات لاستعراض مكافحة التصحر في أفريقيا، والتقنيات الحديثة لمكافحة التصحر، إضافة إلى لقاءات مع خبراء وصناع قرار في ذات المجال.
ويهدف المؤتمر إلى حشد الإمكانات لإعادة تأهيل ملايين الهكتارات من الأراضي المتدهورة والحد من الجفاف، وتسريع التقدم في إدارة الأراضي المستدامة.
BCHR Participates in COP16
The BCHR participated in the sixteenth Conference of the Parties (COP16) to Combat Desertification, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The conference included 197 countries that have signed the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
BCHR, represented by the Head of Partnerships and Grants Department, Eng. Ahmed bin Hamel, External Relations Officer, Ms. Wadha Al-Salwi, member of the Climate Unit, Eng. Naji Bajahaw, in partnership with the Bina Foundation for Development, and a representative of the WFP, Ms. Maha Al-Badani, presented the BCHR efforts in combating desertification. These were presented through agricultural land reclamation projects, greenhouses, water resource rehabilitation, and the introduction of modern technologies such as hydroponics.
The BCHR also participated in several sessions where many activities were presented such as the desertification control in Africa, modern technologies for combating desertification, and meetings with experts and decision-makers in relevant fields.
The conference aims to mobilize resources to rehabilitate millions of hectares of degraded land, mitigate drought, and accelerate progress in sustainable land management.
